Welcome to Oakengates Nursery School

At Oakengates Nursery School, we provide high-quality early education and care for children from birth to four years old.

• Local Authority Nursery: for children aged 2–4 years

• Ofsted-registered Nursery: for children aged 0–2 years

Our nursery is led by a Qualified Teacher alongside a dedicated team of Early Years Educators. All staff are highly skilled in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, tailored to meet the unique needs of every child.

We pride ourselves on creating a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment, where every child feels welcome and valued. Our aim is for children to grow into confident, resilient, and independent learners through experiences that are engaging, active, exciting, and fun.

Learning Through Play

At Oakengates, play is at the heart of everything we do. Children learn and develop through a balance of child-initiated play and carefully planned adult-led activities. Our staff support children every step of the way as they acquire new skills and knowledge.

The EYFS is a vital stage in preparing children for their future education, helping them build secure foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

In today’s technological world, we give children opportunities to explore and learn through a range of digital resources, including computers, iPads, digital microscopes, and an interactive Touch Board.

Outdoor learning is also a key part of nursery life. Children make full use of their dedicated outdoor area, the wider nursery grounds, and the adventure playground to support their physical development and enjoyment of the natural world.
